A loan of $5,200 helped a member to buy more cloth and tailoring materials.

Tanzania Group's story

Tatu, who was born in the early 1970s, is married with two sons who are in school. Since 2000, Tatu has been running a shop selling fabrics, sarongs and bedsheets. She is also a tailor in the same shop. She is doing fine in her business and her family also.

Tatu works from 08 am to 08 pm daily and is able to make a very good profit per month. From Tujijenge Tanzania, this is her fourth loan request. She will use the loan to buy more cloth and tailoring materials. With the previous loans, all of which were paid back successfully, she managed to buy an overlock tailoring machine, more bedsheets, fabrics and sarongs which were sold. With the business profit, she paid school fees and started building her house. She dreams that one day she will able to finish building her family house and improving her business.

Tatu will share this loan with her loan group "Tanzania" which consist of 10 members who will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
