Tania Maria's story

Tania is a member of the Gratitud Village Bank. She is a married, thirty-six-year-old mother of two children. Tania is a primary school teacher and works at a garden in Ayacucho; she also makes handicrafts such as bracelets, doilies, weaves, and embroidery that she sells to her friends and relatives.

Tania and her husband have started a new business this past January, a hardware store situated near the center of the city. They purchase their wholesale products in the city of Lima.

Tania is seeking a loan of 2,000 Peruvian Nuevos Soles to go towards purchasing a motorcycle which would help in running the hardware store. Tania's dream is to own the hardware and make it successful, to have her own garden and to see her children become professionals.
