A loan of $625 helped to buy agricultural inputs for her coffee crop.

Mirna Adalila's story

Mirna was only educated to secondary school level, as it was difficult to travel to where her school was to continue with university studies. She is a widow, as her husband died two years ago, and she has 6 children. Her eldest is 20 and lives with their father, her first husband. The second oldest lives with her and is in the third year of further studies, but also studied carpentry. Her third child lives with their grandmother, and is studying in the third year of higher education, her fourth child is 15 and is in the second year at the same place, and her fifth child is 13 and is in her first year. She lives with her along with the youngest, who is 2 and who is under her care.

She learned how to farm the land from a young age from her parents, and her plot of land is located 45 minutes from her home. She walks there every day. Three of her children help her as they are her only support in farming.

She has requested a loan from COMIXMUL to buy compost, fertiliser, clean, look after and maintain her coffee crops, which are the Lempira variety.

Her goal is to increase her assets so that she can leave her children a dignified inheritance. She hopes to achieve this through the loan she is requesting from COMIXMUL, which she will use to look after her family and continue supporting them in their studies.
