Nelba's story

24 year old Nelba is a modest woman. She lives with her small daughter in her grandmother's home. She is a hard-working woman. In spite of her young age she has two businesses that give her economic stability, in addition to saving for the future of her daughter. Her day begins very early when she prepares her farming instruments and goes to her fields of ulluco, barley and potato that she regularly sells. In the afternoon she tends to her grocery store that she put in her house approximately 2 years ago. She likes this business because it allows her to spend more time with her young child. This is her first loan with KIVA, for which she is thankful for the economic support, in addition she promises to be punctual with her loan payments. Nelba will invest the S/.2000 in buying basic needs products for her grocery store such as rice, sugar, milk, and other items.
