A loan of $500 helped to buy pigs and to fertilize the land where he grows yucca.

Evelio's story

Evelio, age 35, lives with his wife, and he has four children. He lives in the San Francisco de Yojoa municipality. He has 15 years of experience in agriculture. He grows corn, beans, and yucca, and he also raises pigs. He has been growing yucca in an area that is four ‘manzanas’ [a manzana is 7000 square meters] for three years. He currently rents the land. He sells the production at the local market. The loan that Evelio requested is for 10,000 lempiras to buy pigs and to fertilize the land where he grows yucca. With this investment he is going to improve his production and take care of his crops with the supplies that he needs. His goal is to harvest a better quality product.
