A loan of $1,100 helped to buy tires for her business.

Carmen's story

Carmen is 43 years old. She is the head of her household, has two children, and lives in a rented house.

Carmen makes a living by selling replacement parts and tires for motorcycles and bicycles. She has been working in this business for about 8 years. She started it by using her savings and, with her family's help, she was able to rent a shop located in one of the busiest zones in the area. She states that it went well from the beginning since she always keeps her store stocked and offers good prices.

Thanks to the high demand, she was able to hire an assistant who installs the replacement parts on customers' vehicles. She is very satisfied with her business, since the number of motorcycles that she sees in the city is increasing. She hopes that, thanks to them, she can have good sales.

This is her third loan with Kiva and she is grateful for the financial support she has received to move forward. She also promises to make her payments on time.

This time, she requests 3,000 nuevos soles to buy motorcycle tires in bulk, hoping to cover the demand of her customers.
