A loan of $2,450 helped a member to buy three types of local pig.


Poh Gending Lestari Group's story

Poh Gending Lestari group, located in rural areas mostly, have farming businesses and raise livestock. One business is raising pigs. With the number of group members at 10, the group got a loan of 25,000,000 IDR.

Ni Nengah, head of the group, tries to keep different types of pig. She already has a sow. She's using the loan to buy three types of local pigs which will be sold for pigroll (barbeque). Pigs will be maintained for two months, then sold again. Profits from the sale will be set aside for savings and used to buy more pigs again. Ni Nengah hopes this effort will be smooth so that she will be able to realize her dream to make her kitchen more spacious.
