A loan of $1,600 helped to buy fixed assets (an electronic scale) and meat at wholesale (beef and pork).

Andrés Felipe's story

Andrés, 25 years old, is a single man and lives with his parents. He has been involved in butchering activities since he was 15 years old, because his father has been a butcher all his life and taught Andrés the trade. Two years ago, with the support of a sister, he started a scrap yard, with which he did very well, but for various reasons the owner of the premises terminated their contract and the business was closed.
Andrés is a determined, sensible, and energetic man; for this reason, about 5 months ago he sublet a butcher shop that was going to close; it is located in a minimarket in the neighborhood where he lives. He was not going to give up this opportunity, since the business was already well known by the customers who visited the market.
Currently, Andrés is requesting his first loan with the goal of using it to buy fixed assets (an electronic scale) and meat at wholesale (beef and pork) to improve his services and to take advantage of the good price he is being offered for the purchase of wholesale meat. In this way he will be able to increase his profits and have the opportunity to work toward fulfilling his dream of establishing his butcher shop in a larger retail space of his own. Thus he would be able to offer excellent service, flexible and convenient, which would allow him to increase his clientele and improve his income in order to have a prosperous future and a better quality of life in his home.
