Maria Mafaldina's story

Doña María Mafaldina is 48 years old, married, and with a very large family which is made up of 10 children that have not completed primary school. She is in agriculture for a living, long instilled by her parents as it is a family tradition and her only means of income. She specializes in the cultivation of potatoes but in the winter time she also plants corn and beans. Her customers are the different brokers of the area. The land that she works with her children and husband is their own.

Today she is requesting help in order to buy certified potato seed, fertilizer and leaves to do maintenance on her potato crops so that she will be able to protect and fortify her farm.

Her future plans are cultivating a larger quantity and variety of products so that she will be able to offer her customers more, and earn better income to support her children in what they need in terms of study, clothing, medicines, etc.
