A loan of $900 helped to buy winter shoes.

Rosa's story

Rosa, 60, has the spirit and cheerfulness of a 20-year-old and believes that being old is only seen on the outside because if you are young on the inside, age does not matter. She is very enthusiastic and hard-working and lives in the city of Ica which has a warm climate and where agricultural activity is developed, especially growing of crops such as grapes, asparagus, paprika and others. The Huacachina Lagoon is also there and visited all year around by many tourists. Rosa enjoys her work but when she has free time she likes to make one of her favorite dishes: "Tallarines Verdes" (green noodles). Because of her scarce economic resources she was only able to get a fifth grade education but would have liked to go to the university.

Every day Rosa works in her business selling shoes door to door. She works in the morning and afternoon and sees up to ten customers a day. She believes business is going well because she sells quality products at comfortable prices.

Rosa is very happy and grateful to Kiva lenders because this is the second time she receives their support. On this occasion she plans to buy shoes and boots for the winter season. This will giver her a wider variety of products so she can improve her income and quality of life. This will allow her to continue working and striving to reach her goal of "Finishing construction of her own house".
