Maa Jagat Janani Self Help Group's story

Maa Jagat Janani Self Help Group is consisting of nine women from a village in Odisha. They formed a group to help themselves to share their problems and to solve their problems among themselves. One of them is Satyabhama, who was selected as the president of Maa Jagat Janani Self Help Group. The lady standing fifth from right side in the photo is Satyabhama. Satyabhama is 47 years old and is staying with her husband and her two children who are in schooling. She hopes to see them as successful persons in their lives. She has a few acres of land in her village and she is using her land in vegetable and paddy cultivation. Her husband is supporting her in this activity. She and her group have requested a loan of 126,000 INR. Her portion will help her to purchase the required resources for vegetable cultivation -- vegetable plants, seeds, fertilizers, and insecticides -- and to cover operational expenses like labour charges.
