Benkadi Ii Group's story

The members of this group called BENKADI II are married women with an average age of 40 and have on average four children. They mostly live in polygamous families in Massoukou, one of the villages of the prefecture of Dioila, Koulikoro region, second administrative region of Mali.

They work together with the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso with the intention of better organizing their activities at the beginning of the rainy season. The crops they cultivate are peanuts and millet. They are on their fourth loan with the institution.

With this loan, Molobaly, the first person on the right, standing, intends to buy farm inputs, tools, and pay plowing fees to maintain one and a half hectares of millet and peanuts. Her crops are sold at the level of the town of Marka Coungo, after the harvest, to a clientele composed of men and women. She expects to make a profit of 135,000 F CFA more or less each growing season.
