He lives with his 9 children (5 men and 4 women) and his wife in the neighborhood "Cruz B" in Pamezabal in the municipality of Santa Lucía Utatlán, Sololá.

He is a friendly and hardworking man. He told us that he works growing corn in the community where he lives. He inherited this work from his parents and he has been doing it for 30 years. Thanks to the corn he grows he can successfully feed his family and he sells the surplus corn in the local market which generates earnings to cover the other household expenses like clothing and education.

He and the other members of the group will use the loan to buy organic fertilizer to grow corn. His dream is to generate more earnings so he can remodel his home and through this provide a better quality of life to his family.

Santos es el representante del Grupo El Buen Sembrador- Cruz B (de sweater corinto, primero de derecha a izquierda en la fotografía) es un hombre casado, de 50 años de edad, vive junto a sus 9 hijos (5 hombres y 4 mujeres) y su esposa en el Paraje Cruz B, Pamezabal, municipio de Santa Lucía Utatlán, Sololá.
El es un hombre trabajador y amable, comenta que se dedica a la siembra de maíz en la comunidad donde vive, esta labor la heredó de sus padres y lleva 30 años realizándola.
Gracias al cultivo de maíz que realiza el puede alimentar a su familia y el excedente producido lo comercializa en el mercado local y le genera ingresos para cubrir otros gastos como vestimenta y educación.
Los demás integrantes del grupo utilizaran el crédito para la compra de abono orgánico para el cultivo de maíz.
Su sueño es generar más ganancias para poder remodelar su vivienda y así darle una mejor calidad de vida a su familia.

ADICLA (Association for the Holistic Development of the Basin of Lake Atitlán) is nonprofit rural community development association that provides small loans and services to improve quality of life in two of the poorest regions of Guatemala, home to large indigenous populations. Kiva funding will be used to support three innovative credit initiatives: youth business loans, green loans, and smaller loans to help ADICLA move down-market and serve poorer clients.
