A loan of $1,300 helped to buy clothing, perfumes, creams, and cosmetics.

Emperatriz's story

The República Del Ecuador Communal Bank meets every 15 days in the city of Manta, which is known for its beautiful beaches which are visited year-round, as well as for being a city of incomparable beauty with many tourist attractions.

This is where Emperatriz lives. She is 48 years old and she is in a civil union which has produced four grown children who live at home. Her partner is a master builder.

Emperatriz is a homemaker who sells clothing and Avon products (beauty products, cosmetics, perfume, and ladies' accessories) to make her own income and to help her husband with the household expenses. She sells door-to-door in her free time and she leaves her products on credit, collecting every eight or fifteen days depending on her customers' preferences. She has been in this business for over 10 years and it is going very well for her.

This loan is to buy clothing, perfume, creams, and cosmetics. This is her fourth cycle with the communal bank and she likes it because the loans are quick and they help her a lot.

Her dream is to continue with this.
