Aliyakan's story

Aliyakan is a 64-year-old widow, and the mother-hero of nine children (seven sons and two daughters). All of the children live on their own. After the dissolution of the Soviet Union and she lost her job, Aliyakan in search of income for her family became involved in field crops and raising livestock in 1985. The business began with 1,000 som (KGS).

Thanks to her backbreaking work and capacious labors, Aliyakan achieved great business success and began to receive a monthly income of 37,000 som (KGS). Today, Aliyakan has a big homestead: seven mares, five dairy cows, five steers, ten sheep, five lambs, 20 goats and 20 kids. Similarly, there is an allotment of land of 0.32 hectares for processing and growing sainfoin (Eurasian perennial herbs of the legume family).

With the goal of further expanding her livestock count, Aliyakan turned to Bai-Tushum and Partners for a loan of 135,000 som (KGS) на покупку кобыл.

Aliyakan plans to invest income from the loan in further development of her small business.
