A loan of $3,000 helped to pay for two cows and a calf.

Liana's story

A teacher since 2005, Liana has been involved in agriculture for many years. She lives with her husband, her mother-in-law and two school age-children in the small village of Khdranc. In order to overcome financial difficulties, the family started to breed cattle years ago. Now, due to their hard work, they keep livestock that includes chickens, pigs and calves. As a teacher's salary in the village is not enough for covering the family's costs, agriculture is the only other source of income for Liana and her family members. Now, with a lot of plans, Liana has applied for this loan to increase her livestock with two cows and a calf. She hopes that Kiva lenders will support her farming business and the loan will help the family to live a better life.
