A loan of $3,300 helped a member to replenish more genge/grocery items -fruit, vegetables, onions, tomatoes, etc.

Zebra Group's story

Fredy, a man who is married with two sons and three daughters, is in his early 50's. One of the children is in school.

For ten years now, Fredy has been running a business selling fruit and vegetables, commonly known as genge. He is doing great with his activities. He works from 8 am to 9 pm daily, and is able to make a fair return in a month.

This will be his tenth loan request from Tujijenge Tanzania. With the previous loans all paid back successfully, he managed to restock more fruit and vegetables. With the genge profit received, he paid school fees, covered home costs, and other basic needs expenses.

Fredy will use this loan to replenish more genge items - fruit, vegetables, onions, tomatoes, etc. He dreams that one day, he will be able to have a good performing fruit and vegetable business, which will enable him to more easily meet his family's basic needs.

He will share this loan with his loan group, "Zebra", which totals ten members. The members of the group will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.

In this group: Fredy, Jennifer, Easther, Daudi, Godfrey, Marry, Christina, Issa, Lawrance, Ramra
