Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $1,175 helped to purchase three bulls and expand his business.

Isomiddin's story

Isomiddin lives in the Nosiri Khusrav district in southern Tajikistan. He is 37, married, and has a son and a daughter who are in school. His mother and father also live with the family. Isomidden buys cattle, fattens them up for 30-35 days, and then sells them for profit at the local cattle market. His nephew helps him with his work. Isomidden has been raising cattle for four years and also plants crops with his father. He currently has two cows and two calves and wants to buy more cattle to expand the business. He has asked for a loan to buy three bulls to fatten and resell. He plans to remodel his house and improve his family's living conditions with the profits.
