Amela's story

Amela is a 37-year-old woman living in a village outside the town of Visoko. She is married and her husband works as an officer in the army. Amela spends a lot of her time breeding chickens, and she has 50 right now. She is able to make income by selling the eggs they produce, which she takes to a wholesale retailer who distributes them to local stores.

She is requesting this loan, her 1st loan with Žene za Žene, in the amount of 1000 KM (US$ 800) to further invest in this poultry business. She wants buy some more chickens and also purchase more food for them, and she hopes she can increase her profits by selling even more eggs.
