Zoila Rosa's story

Zoila has been in the credit group "El Cisne" [The Swan] for 10 years. In all this time, she has come to have better friendships with all her neighbors and partners in the group. In addition, the loans have allowed her to improve the economic stability of her household. She lives on the outskirts of the parish of Valle in the city of Cuenca, a locale that enjoys exuberant vegetation, beautiful landscapes, and green countryside. Its people are kind, gentle, and hard-working, and dedicate themselves to country work, like the care of animals, agriculture, commerce, and they also work in the city in different economic activities.

Zoila is 63, married, and has four adult children who are married and live independently. Her husband works in construction. The house they live in is their own.

Zoila is a domestic worker all day Monday to Friday. At home, she raises cattle, pigs, guinea pigs, and chickens. She also grows food, which is used for meals in her home. The money from her loan is to buy food for her animals and chickens. Her goal is to obtain more animals.
