A loan of $875 helped to purchase guinea pigs, chickens and animal feed.

María Rosa's story

María has been part of the group Crédito el Cisne (Swan Loans) for two years. She likes this type of loan as it allows her to improve her small business’s credit.

She lives on the outskirts of the Valle en Cuenca Parish, a place that has vibrant vegetation, beautiful scenery and green fields. Its people are friendly, courteous and hardworking. They do agricultural work like raising animals, farming, and running businesses; they also work in the city in various economic activities.

María is 54 years old. She is married, and from this marriage she has had four children. One of her children is married and lives independently. Another works and helps her out economically. Two of her children are in school. Her husband works as a mason.

María works in agriculture, and she uses what she harvests to feed her household. She also raises guinea pigs, chickens, and cattle, from which she sells milk.

She will invest the money from her loan in the purchase of guinea pigs, chickens, and feed for all of her animals.

Her dream is for her children to be professionals.
