A loan of $375 helped to buy stock merchandise for her store.

Nelida's story

Nélida, 65, is married to Palermo and lives in her own house with her children. Nélida works selling food items and also sells beer and other beverages at retail. She earns extra income leasing out her motortaxi.

She started in this business seeing improvement for her family and to earn income. For a long time Nélida had thought about setting up a business but because of lack of capital had been unable to do so. So she decided to save up and help her husband in the field selling the agricultural products they grew. With the profits she earned she gradually started to buy some grocery items and that’s how she started to surge and now with the passage of time she has a stable business that helps her improve her standard of living and to offer her family a better future.

This is her fist Kiva loan and she’s very grateful for the opportunity that presents itself to her to obtain a line of credit that will be very useful for her business. On this occasion she will request 1,000 soles to buy grocery items like rice, sugar and milk, among others.
