The group members are friends from the same district who get their supplies from the same place. Josephine, who is 53 years old and married to a farmer called Benoit, is mother to two children, one of whom is at school. Josephine lives with her children and husband. She did not go to school and has for the past 15 years or so been selling palm nuts, palm wine and corn in a market in Benin; this enables her to take care of and feed her family. She gets her supplies in Benin. This is the fourth time that Josephine has requested a loan from Alidé so that she can build up her business and increase her turnover and income.

MIGNONMIDE est un groupe constitué de trois personnes dont la représentante (dont la main est levée sur la photo) est nommée Josephine. Les membres du groupe sont des amies du même quartier et qui s’approvisionnent au même endroit. Agée de 53 ans, Josephine est mariée à un cultivateur du nom de Benoît et est mère de deux enfants. Parmi les enfants, un est scolarisé. Josephine vit ensemble avec ses enfants et son mari. N’ayant pas été à l’école, Josephine vend depuis quinze ans environs, des noix de palme, du vin de palme et du maïs dans un marché du Bénin ; ce qui lui permet de se prendre en charge et de nourrir sa famille. Josephine s’approvisionne au Bénin. C'est la quatrième fois que Josephine sollicite un financement auprès de ALIDé, afin d'agrandir son activité et d'accroître son chiffre d'affaire et son revenu.

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients.
