A loan of $400 helped to purchase beans, rice, sugar, salt and also a deep-fryer.

Maria Santos's story

María lives with her mother, her brothers and her two children, ages 12 and 13. They depend on her because she is a single mother, and she doesn't have relatives abroad. María has a general store and also makes a living selling snacks like cakes, enchiladas, french fries and other items. Little by little her business has grown. One of the advantages she has is that she has knowledge about her market. She is requesting the loan to purchase basic goods, such as beans, rice, sugar and salt, as well as a deep-fryer. This investment will help her increase her production and stock her store. Her dream is to earn a higher income and thus offer her family a better quality of life.
