A loan of $1,525 helped to grow his Zoona money transfer business by increasing his working capital to serve more customers.

Darius's story

At 27, Darius is the bread-winner for his family. He supports them with the profits he earns from his Zoona mobile money transfer business, located in Mazabuka town of Zambia.

Darius is taking out a Kiva loan, so that he can increase his working capital float, which will help him to grow his business because he will be able to serve a lot more customers wanting to send and receive money from his shop.

Darius explained that Mazabuka is a fast-growing town and his business has grown from the time he started. The growth has meant that a lot of people now know his shop and he is failing to meet their demand to process money transfer transactions. This puts Darius under a lot of pressure in his day-to-day running of the business.

Darius is grateful for the opportunity he has been given to grow his business with a Kiva loan. He says it helps him take care of himself and his family. Darius dreams of opening up more mobile money transfer outlets.
