Fatogoma's story

Fatogoma was born in 1980 in Kadiolo in the Sikasso region (the Republic of Mali's third administrative region). He lives in a traditional extended family in the Noumousso district of Kadiolo.

He has been buying and selling spare parts and electrical equipment for more than seven years. His experience in this field has earned him a good reputation and he gets orders from a variety of customers. In order to have the necessary resources to meet customer demand he collaborates with the microfinance institution, Soro Yiriwaso, and is on his fourth individual loan, the three previous loans having been repaid in full.

This new loan will enable him to buy a significant quantity of spare parts (pistons, brake-shoes, retainer seals, bearings) and hardware equipment (bulbs, cables, probes, cement, plaster and paints). He gets his supplies in Bamako and Sikasso and sells his products in his shop in Kadiolo which lies in the central market. His customer base is made up of men and women.

With this loan he expects to make an average monthly profit of 100,000FCFA. This profit will enable him to meet his loan repayments and to invest in her business.
