Alexandra's story

Alexandra is a young woman, 22 years old, who lives in the city of Barranquilla in the department of Atlántico. She lives with her spouse and her two children, a one-year-old boy and a three-year-old girl. Her business activity is the selling of clothing and footwear for ladies and gentlemen, which she sells to friends, relatives, neighbors and fellow students, who buy from her on credit. Her spouse also helps her by selling in casinos. She started the business two years ago by means of her mother-in-law who lives in the neighboring country of Venezuela. She sends her the clothing and footwear that are in fashion, satisfying the tastes of her customers. Every day from Monday to Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., she is working, offering and charging, which are the tasks of her business.

This is her first Kiva loan from Fundación Mario Santo Domingo, which she will apply to the purchase of polo shirts, t-shirts, jeans and sports shoes for ladies and gentlemen. She has as her goal to expand her selection to make her business grow and also, in the not-too-distant future, to have her own house.
