Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Esther 1, 3 & 4 Group's story

Margarita is the group coordinator of Esther 1, 3, & 4, which is made up of 15 micro-entrepreneurs. This group is located in the city of San Pedro de Macoris, in one of the rural villages surrounding the main city. Margarita enjoys working and being at her home with her family. She lives with her long-term partner and their three children with a new baby coming soon. She said that her most difficult challenge is to improve her business. She dreams of having a successful business and bringing change to her family.

She is excited to receive her 14th loan with Esperanza International; as with each loan she has been able to invest in her business and improve it, making it possible to provide for her family's needs. She thanks all of you for your support of her business and her group.
