A loan of $1,600 helped a member to buy clothes to supply to farm workers in Manicaland.

Praise Group's story

Greetings from Zimbabwe! This is 52-year-old Ellen from Mutare. She is a single parent with four children. Ellen is the leader in the group called Praise Group. She also cares for three other dependents. Ellen runs a clothing business selling kids' wear, ladies' wear and cosmetics. The business has been in operation for four years. She says the main challenges faced are delayed payments from customers and high import duties. Ellen has requested a loan of $400 to purchase clothes (kids' wear and ladies' wear) to sell to farm workers in Manicaland. She says the extra income generated as a result of this loan will allow her to improve general family welfare. In the future Ellen plans to buy a residential plot for the family.
