Mariza is a 40-year-old mother of three. She wants to augment her family's living, so she runs a sari-sari store selling grocery items in her community. Her husband works as a driver, and she helps him by operating her business.
Mariza borrowed a loan from Gata Daku MPC to buy home use grocery items and build a store shelter. She hopes to support the needs of her children and send them to school for sake of their future.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
