A loan of $1,075 helped buy manure and fertilizer for his coffee crop and pay his workers.

Yergly Johan's story

Johan is 21 years old and already has a 1 year old son. He lives in a free union with his partner. When he was a child, he started learning how to work the fields and how to grow coffee thanks to the teachings of his father and aunts and uncles. Due to illness, his father couldn't continue to maintain his business. For this reason, Johan has been growing coffee on the farm where he lives since he was 12 years old. He currently has 2,000 coffee trees. When it's time to harvest, he hires various people to help him with the work. Later, he sells his harvest and in this way obtains income for his family.

Johan is an energetic, active, dedicated, and hardworking man. He is always looking for ways to help him progress. This is why he is asking for his first loan; so he can pay those that he hires to help him with the harvest. This will allow him to protect his crop form rust fungus, which is the main threat to his business. He will also continue to hire workers for his new harvests. He will be able to strengthen his crops and obtain a good quality harvest which can be sold for a high price. In this way, he will have more opportunities to increase his income, buy his own house as soon as possible and offer his young son an excellent education and quality of life.
