A loan of $400 helped a member to buy pesticides and fertilizer for his farm.

Chan's Group's story

Chan, 46, lives with his wife and five children in a rural village of the Sangke district, Cambodia. Out of his five children, three are still in school. To feed the family, Chan is a motor-taxi driver while his wife grows oranges on their farm to earn extra income for the family. Having been in these businesses for 10 years, they can earn about 46,000 KHR per day to meet the family’s needs. Chan has been with VisionFund for six loans and completely repaid the past loans which have helped better support his business. Now, he is leading his group of two to ask for a new loan. As the leader, he is going to use his portion to buy pesticides and fertilizer for his farm. Chan hopes to increase his crop yields so as to generate more income to improve his standard of living.
