A loan of $275 helped buy materials to repair her business' roof.

Marleny Del Socorro's story

Marleny is 53 years old and is a widow who takes care of her 3 children. She has had this business for 23 years, which is a cafeteria where she sells cakes, soda, cookies, and other goods. She has been able to earn income to help sustain her home. She learned this profession without anyone else's help and achieved it by relying on her own desires and efforts. Financial troubles made her go through difficult times in life. Occasionally there has been civil unrest in her sector of the country which affects the development of her business, but this hasn't kept her from moving forward.

She is in need of support via the loan that she is asking for. She will use it to buy supplies (fabric, wood, and nails) to repair her business' roof. When it rains, the roof leaks and damages her goods. In this way, her business will have a better image and her customers will feel more comfortable. In this way, Marleny hopes to progress so she can fulfill her dream of offering financial stability and a better quality of life to her family.
