Adriana Mireya's story

“Divino Niño de Tohalla” (Devine Child of Tohalla) is a Communal Bank that meets every fortnight in the Montecristi Canton, a place known for its rich pre-colonial culture and for its crafts that are famous both nationally and internationally; here is where the famous straw hats come from.

Here is where Adriana lives. She is 37, she is married and she has four children aged 22, 20, 16 and 12. The two youngest children go to school. Her husband owns a poultry farm.

Adriana is requesting a loan for herself as well as for her husband, who owns a poultry farm breeding chickens. While he engages in this activity, she runs a store where she sells balanced feed, grains and every kind of chicken and pig food, as well as medicines and chemicals used in agriculture and animal breeding. Every day she starts working at 8 am and goes back home at 6 pm, as her store is located in a locale she rents in the center of her home town. She has been engaging in this activity for more than one year and her sales increase on a constant basis.

The loan she is requesting will be used to buy balanced feed and animal medicines for her shop and for her husband’s farm. She has been a member of this Communal Bank since the beginning, and she likes it because she has started her activity thanks to the loans.

Her dream is to improve her activity on a daily basis.
