A loan of $1,000 helped to buy agricultural supplies and transport them to her coffee crops.

Maria Isabel's story

María Isabel is a housewife and farmer. She does not have children and she lives with her in-laws. She is 23 years old and has a 4th grade education. Along with her husband, she works in agriculture, especially in coffee cultivation. The land that she helps her husband to cultivate is their own.

Like everything in life, there are challenges that slow production and cost money, like transporting agricultural supplies that help protect her coffee crops against blight, pests, and bugs that damage them. Some of her crops are a 30-minute walk from her home and the other part is on the property where her home is located.

She has requested a loan from the COMIXMUL communal bank to buy and transport agricultural supplies that will help her to improve and protect her coffee crops.

Her plans and goals are to improve her coffee crops by becoming more technical and providing the care and assistance that they need to prevent them from being consumed by blight and other bugs.
