Church St# 4 Group's story

Kausar is a 47-year-old married woman, living in the area of Lahore, Pakistan with her husband and six children. She wants to take a loan for her elder son; since 2001, he has been learning the work of sewing seat covers for cars. Now he has become expert and has chosen it for his profession. He wants to start his own business of sewing seat covers for cars. He wants to buy a sewing machine, rexene (fabric coated with plastic), thread, and the initial tools, but he has a problem due to low capital and feels compelled to take a loan. Kausar is a responsible mother; she wants to fulfill the needs of her son at any cost. This is why she requested a loan of Rs.40,000 from Kiva’s field partner, BRAC Pakistan. Her son could buy a sewing machine, rexene, and thread for his own business. Her desire is that this business gets ahead by day & nights. Note: Kausar has her hand raised in the photo.
