A loan helped to buy flour, sugar, and other ingredients, to use in making Filipino snacks to sell.

Beatriz's story

Beatriz is a 29-year-old, married woman and mother of a 9-year-old daughter. She lives in Getafe, Bohol. She engages in a food vending business. She makes and sells snack foods, like banana cue (deep-fried banana, covered with caramelized brown sugar), and butsi (rice cakes made from sweet rice flour that is molded into shape, with a sweet bean paste filling). She sells them to people in the nearby community, to earn a living.

Beatriz requested a loan of 8,000 PHP. She will use the loan to buy flour, sugar and other ingredients, to be able to continue serving her customers. In the future, Beatriz hopes that she could provide her family with good living conditions and have a sustainable livelihood.
