A loan of $1,125 helped a member to purchase cows and additional utensils for food sales.


Aziza's Ujamaa Group's story

Aziza is 35-years-old, married and has four children, ages 18, 15, 8 and 5. She began selling food and owning livestock in 2000. She works from 6AM to 5PM each day at her business and can earn a monthly profit of about $40 from her sales.


Aziza has taken out one successful loan from BRAC Tanzania to expand her business. Aziza now hopes for a loan to buy more cows and other utensils for her food sales business. She will share this loan with her subgroup members who also have businesses dealing with alcohol sales and milk sales.
