Nueva Siembra Chuisajcab Group's story

Lorenzo, 47, is the representative of Nueva Siembra Chuisajcab Group (wearing a brown t-shirt, the first one on the right in the photograph). He's married and lives with his five children, two men and three women, in the hamlet of Chuisajcab, Nahualá Sololá.

He's a hardworking man who strives for his family's well-being. He says he has made a living growing corn a few meters from from his house for 25 years. He chose this type of work because he can feed his family during the year and sell it in the local market. With this job he earns an acceptable income and profits that allow him to cover his family's expenses.

The other members of the group will use the other part of the loan to grow corn so they can increase their earnings and improve their families' living conditions.

The loan will be used to buy organic soil amendments to grow corn.

His dream is to get his children ahead in their studies and improve the family economy.
