A loan of $450 helped to buy stock merchandise like soft-drinks and others.

Katia's story

Katia, 40, is divorced living in her own house with her three children. Katia’s activity is selling soft-drinks in assorted brands and flavors. She’s been in this business for more than six years and at the moment only her older daughter helps her take care of customers when she needs to be away from home.

She likes the business because of the income and because she’s able to have an occupation while being able to be comfortable at home and have time available for other activities. She considers the business to be profitable because of the demand it has and the profits it nets. Therefore, she plans to expand her business.

This will be her second Kiva loan. She therefore hopes for a small loan so she can continue towards reaching her objectives. She will use the 1,200 new soles to buy stock merchandise for her store like assorted brands of soft-drinks, chewing gum and others.
