A loan of $450 helped to buy sewing supplies like fabric, thread, etc.

Norma's story

Norma, 57, is divorced living in her own house. Norma works sewing and making clothes for women, men and children. She has a small workshop she set up at home. She’s been doing this activity for more than ten years.

She likes sewing; she learned it by taking courses in an occupational education center and to date it has served as her source of income. She considers her business to be quite profitable because of the good profits it nets. Because of this she plans to open a boutique at home to display her products.

This will be her second Kiva loan. She’s very happy to know that she’ll have financial support because she will feel more confident that way of making business progress. On the other hand, she commits once more to make her payments. She will use the 1,200 new soles to buy sewing supplies like fabric, thread, elastic and others.
