A loan of $1,450 helped to buy food products such as rice, sugar and flour so that she can expand her store.

Carmela's story

Carmela is 53, married and lives in her own home with her husband. Carmelo sells food products and has a store set up in her home where she has a wide variety of products. It was started more than 10 years ago; later she began expanding, and managed to make her working capital grow. Up to now she has been running it with the support of her husband in his free time. She feels happy about her income, now that she can support her family. Seeing the good results she has, she wishes to continue with her business and expand her space so that she can display a greater number of products. This will be her third loan with Kiva, so she hopes for a small loan so that she can fulfill her objectives. With the amount 4000 nuevos soles, she will invest in the purchase of miscellaneous groceries, such as rice, sugar, flour and other products, so that she can keep expanding her store.
