A loan of $325 helped to purchase a sewing machine for her husband.

Maqsooda's story

Maqsooda, a 54-year-old hard-working woman, lives in Pakistan with her husband and five children. Her husband is a tailor. His income is insufficient to meet the family's needs. He wants to generate more income by purchasing a new sewing machine. He will extend his business if he gets a good amount of profit in the future. Maqsooda has requested a loan from Kiva's partner BRAC Pakistan to purchase a sewing machine for her husband to stitch more dresses and to satisfy the needs of clients more professionally. He hopes, with the help of the loan, to reach his desired net income and be able to save for their future. Maqsooda dreams of giving the children a quality education.
