A loan of $500 helped to buy biscuits, bubbles and chocolates to sell.

Musarat's story

Musarat is a 38-year-old married woman living in the area of Lahore, Pakistan, with her family. She owns a small general store in which she offers biscuits, bubbles and chocolates to the kids of her hometown. She has successfully built her business with the support of BRAC Pakistan. She is in her 5th loan cycle.

Previously, she took a loan to purchase various goods for her general store that allowed her to fulfill the clients' demands more professionally and efficiently, and she earned a reasonable amount of profit to cover her household expenses. Currently, most of the inventories have been sold out due to a lot of demand from her customers, but she does not have sufficient capital to buy new inventory.

Musarat applied for a new loan of 50,000 PKR to purchase a stock of biscuits, bubbles, chocolates and further grains, rice and cleaning products, including soaps and shampoos. It will help her to meet the demands of her customers without failure. She is very experienced and has good contacts in the market. With this loan, she will definitely expand her business and income level. She is very thankful to Kiva's field partner, BRAC Pakistan.
