A loan of $2,100 helped a member to buy stock merchandise for her store.

Mujeres Emprendedoras - Chilca Group's story

Nancy is one of the members of the “Mujeres Emprendedoras” (Enterprising Women) group consisting of 8 people, all women, who are very hardworking and enthusiastic. Nancy is 35-years-old and the only source of support for her six-year-old son, her father and her siblings.

She is one of the longest-standing members of the group and has worked with Edaprospo for more than two years; she’s always been punctual with her payments.

Nancy has a grocery store where she sells sugar, rice, milk, candy, gifts, etc. She says her main customers are neighbors who prefer her; she works more than 10 hours daily in her store.

She will use the requested loan to buy merchandise like rice, sugar, milk, candy, etc. at wholesale to improve profits and improve her loved ones’ quality of life.

Nancy is very happy and glad for the support Kiva lenders provide and she says: “May you trust us so that we can continue forward with our work. Thank you.”

Nancy is wearing a maroon sweater and is first from the left.
