A loan of $1,000 helped to buy seeds to plant peanuts and corn.

Martin's story

Martin, age 43, is a farmer. He grows a variety of vegetables like corn, potatoes, and peanuts on his land. His land is located in the Vallecito de Tacuarembo community. This loan is his first cycle within the institution. Martin will use this loan to buy seeds to plant corn and peanuts and to buy what is needed to prepare the land.

His reason for requesting this loan is to get resources for sowing and to be able to survive. Martin faces the challenges of inclement weather in his business. Many times it destroys his crops. He will use the profits to improve his quality of life and that of his family. He covers all of the household expenses. He is a responsible and hard-working person.

He is grateful to the institution for the provided support. Once he harvests his products, he sells them directly from the producer to the consumer at the community market.
