A loan of $550 helped to buy a chainsaw.

Floresminda's story

Floresminda is 52 years old, married, and has seven children who are all now adults. She lives with her husband in their own home.

Floresminda works in agriculture – specifically she grows cacao because of the significant demand for this crop among the population where she lives. She has her own field of two hectares where she has established her cacao trees. However, because of the high current demand for this product, she has rented other fields where she plans to establish cacao trees and consolidate her business. She has worked in this area for 20 years with the help of her husband. When she harvests her crops, she sells them in the field where they grow, and transports what remains to a market to continue to offer them for sale. She says her business is going well for her, although she says that sometimes in the past the exhausting sun made her think of not continuing with this work. However, she says that she has learned how to adapt to the situation and now she does her work with good results and a positive outlook for the future.

Floresminda is requesting a loan of 1500 PEN and is grateful for the financial support to move ahead with her business. She promises to punctually make her payments. With the loan she will buy a new type of chainsaw that she will use to prepare an additional hectare of cacao.
