A loan of $1,300 helped to buy a motorcycle.

José Arturo's story

José is 25 years old. He lives with his life companion, who is 18 years old, and with whom he has an 18-month-old son. They live at his home with his parents and his two brothers.

He has been working as a ranch hand for 10 years, a skill that he learned from doing it with his father. He has been working for a cattle rancher for 8 years. He is in charge of managing 60 cattle with the help of his brother. In his free time, with the help of his family, he grows corn and vegetables (summer and winter squash) on parcels of land of 3000 square meters.

The loan that he is seeking from Fundación Campo is to buy a motorcycle. This will serve to transport him to his workplace, and he will not have to walk 40 minutes every day early in the morning on dark, graveled roads. He is also planning to go out to sell part of the harvest in neighboring communities.

The needs to satisfy are those of comfort and security and also to provide one more tool with which he can obtain other income by selling some of the products obtained from the harvests.

He states that the most important and most urgent [goal] is to construct a home and live in a different house from his parents.
