A loan of $450 helped to buy provisions.

Rosa Leticia's story

Rosa has been part of the Mujeres Solidarias (United Women) communal bank for 2 years. She likes this type of loan because of the speed and because of the solidarity and camaraderie of all the members of this group. She lives in Paute canton, which enjoys a warm climate. It has a rugged geography, due to which it has beautiful landscapes. Its land is very fertile, so the most beautiful flowers are grown and a great variety of fruit is produced. Its people are friendly and courteous and still maintain the culture and traditions of their peoples. They work in business, raising animals, and farming.

Rosa is 53 years old. She is married and has 4 children from this union. Two are married and live independently. Her two single daughters work and help with the finances. Her husband works in construction as a bricklayer. They live in their own house.

She has had a shop for two years in which she works every day without a fixed schedule. Since she is at home, she also raises chickens and guinea pigs and plants vegetables for her household's consumption as well as for sale.

The money from her loan will be used to buy provisions for her store.

Her goal is to further expand her store.
