Las Profes (Cuenca) Group's story

The “Las Profes” communal bank consists of six females and one male member who are teachers. They like working in this profession and have satisfaction seeing the children learning day after day, and also like it because of the happy working environment, all of them supportive and respectful. They live in the city of Cuenca, a city that has lots of nature and colonial architecture mixed with modern. Its people maintain the old culture and traditions.

One of the members of this group is Gloria, she is a part of the “Las Profes” communal bank and is one of the founding members of this group of fighting women, professionals, who are all very charismatic, all of them supportive and always looking out for their companions.

Gloria is 52 years old, married and through this relationship has a 21 year old daughter who is studying at college. Her husband, a craftsman by trade, works in watchmaking. The house they live in is the fruit of their combined efforts.

Gloria is a very sociable woman and has been engaged in teaching for some years. She works in a little school in the city and she likes being with the children, and she also gives family motivational talks.

She is going to invest the money from the loan to pay college fees for her daughter who is studying dentistry.

Her dream is that her daughter becomes a professional.
